PFDC - Mansour Pourheidari the boss at
Iran's champions Esteghlal club, is very pleased with the shape of his
team before the Asian Club Championship semifinal matches which will be
held in the 100,000-seater Azadi Stadium of Tehran, on April 3, 2002.
"We have seen our opponents' games on video and we have worked on
their weaknesses. I hope my players will be 100% ready at the time of
the semi-final match against Anyang," says Pourheidari.
In regards to absentees in the team he says:
"Khaziravi is injured and I am not sure if he can play in the first
game. Broumand has not yet reported his whereabouts to the team. Vahedi
is in Tehran and will join the session tomorrow. Gholioff is with
Azerbaijan's national team for a friendly and will join us in three
days."
Pourheidari did not mention anything about the abcense of Sohrab
Bakhtiarizadeh but asked the fans to fully support the team to elevate
the good spirit of the players.
Esteghlal of Tehran will clash with Anyang of South Korea in the second
match of the semi-finals day when the other representative of South
Korea, Suwon Samsung plays against Uzbekistan's side, Nasaf Karsi in the
opening. The winners of both matches will play in the final to determine
the 19th Asian Club Champions.
